Makakatana Bay Lodge is the only privately owned Lodge situated within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park - World Heritage Site in Zululand, KwaZulu Natal, formerly known as the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. Makakatana is uniquely positioned on the banks of Lake St Lucia in the heart of Wetlands and is close enough to offer guests incredible Safaris into the Wetlands, to the Glorious Beaches on the Indian Ocean Coastline and Safaris to the world Renown Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Full Day adventures that can be experienced at Makakatana include: Beach Safaris, Boat Trips, Wetland Drives and trips to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. Additional activities that can be booked include: Horse Rides in the Wetlands or on the beach, Deep Sea Fishing, Turtle Watching, Whale Watching, Bird Watching and Cultural Tours.
