Londo Lodge Responsible TourismOur hotel is actively involved with the local community which is called Londo village.
We have build a school, are currently assessing a borehole for fresh water supply, actively participate in fishing control regulations for the greater Pemba bay area and do educate locals on the impact of poaching.
We are also looking at ways to start a private game park here at the Londo peninsula, involving all 5 local communities by means of tracking, protecting and assisting local game.
Fair trade is something we are looking at now but have not started any project yet.
We employ 35 local staff and our social responsibility is omnipresent; pregnant staff will be on a 1-year maternity leave whereby we will pay for 1/2 their salary throughout their absence. Sick and critically ill staff & villagers are always helped with medical care and transport to the hospital.
